Aardvarks

Sixty identical wooden parts are assembled in a rugged weave to make Aardvarks.  My original concept was more like intertwined branches. But on seeing the parts I had the impression of aardvarks (I'm still not sure why) and the name grew on me. 

Although all the sixty laser-cut parts are completely identical, they meet in various ways to create different local neighborhoods.  Below are three computer generated images, centered on a 5-fold, a 3-fold, and a 2-fold neighborhood:
